They're probably not going to be Meteorologists

Mary Claire and her friend over lunch:

MC: Tornadoes are nothing to be scared about. They are just BIG, BIG, BIG, BIG storms that blow hard all over the sky.

S: No, they aren’t.

MC: Yes they are, my Daddy told me all about them. He even showed me pictures on Google (yes, she really said that). But we don’t have to worry about them because me and Daddy have helmets. Mommy doesn’t have one though.

S: No, tomatoes are what you put on sandwiches. But you still have to wear helmets if you want to eat them.

That’s really funny. I just read it to Sam and Sophia. Sam said “It doesn’t matter if you have a helmet, tornadoes can kill you! It will just pull the helmet right off!” He has a phobia of tornadoes like his mom. ha ha, Sophia conveniently doesn’t recollect this conversation.

ha, the first time I read this I thought Sam said that “tomatoes” would still kill you. I’m sure Jeff would agree.
