Cats can bounce
Tonight Mary Claire had two friends over. They were in and out of the trampoline all evening and in and out of the house, tattling on one another. At one point Megan, the main tattling culprit, came in yet again yelling “Paaaaam?!” I told her that I was done hearing tattling unless someone was truly hurt.
“Well I think you might want to know about this one. It has to do with your cat”, she replies.
“What’s wrong with the cat?”
“You know the one cat you have, the grey and brown one?”
“Yes”.
“You know the big trampoline you have in the backyard?”
“Yes” (at this point I’m thinking she needs to get on with the story already).
“Well Mary Claire and Abby put the cat on the trampoline so the cat could bounce in it but I don’t think she wants to”.
Outside I go and yes, Mary Claire and Abby are on the trampoline. And yes, they put Zoey on the trampoline as well. And yes, cats do always land on their feet, even when two children are bouncing on a trampoline, causing the light-weight cat to bounce too.
That’s awesome!!!!
Hilarious!! Aren’t girls the worse tattle tales??????
Poor Zoey, probably missed an “America’s Funniest Video” moment!
I must be old fashioned because I’m still shocked that the kid called you by your first name!
Lol… I am picturing that poor cat all tense wondering what it did to deserve this!
This is actually good ‘elementary’ style cooperative learning about how to deal with someone who may be ‘catty’ through teamwork. Note that survival mechanisms are learned in youth from not only genetic, but also environmental affects…. if it is not torture and it is good, clean fun, and the cat doesn’t hurt anyone while managing to land on their feet, while not loosing its self-esteem and -worth, or cat sense of self-control, then let it be a lesson learned. Best of all, though, is when zooey, children, adults, and all animals and humans, respond properly to a pure non-romantic Agapi: Love. Unity of love is the best kind of unity of all.
