Now Hiring

Mary Claire was in a hurry to eat dinner tonight because her new friend invited her over to play.  So I pulled a grilled chicken breast out of the fridge and gave it to her with some cherry tomatoes.

“This chicken feels greasy and Daddy says greasy food isn’t good for you”.

“Mary Claire, it’s grilled chicken breast.  Chicken breast is one of the healthiest meats you can eat”.

“Breast!?  This is a chicken’s BREAST?!  Like the kind you give Lydia her milk?!!!”

“Mommy, gross!!!!  Like it’s the kind from a real chicken?  A real chicken that has a BREAST?!!!”

She tried to get herself to eat it, but couldn’t.

“Can I just have cheerios instead?  Do they come from a breast?”

In addition to preparing gluten-free and weight watcher meals, I think now I’m going to have to add vegetarian ones to the mix.

Someone please send a chef to our house.

She is too funny. I am so glad you write this stuff down, I have no doubt you will have it bound for your girls to read one day….or all of mankind. Either way I love it!

Noooooo. I don’t want her to make anymore connections, sad to say but true. When she can start cooking for herself she can start eating tofu. :)
